Anglican Church of Canada votes against same-sex unions

TRUTHBOMB: HOORAY!!! Now if we get the other doctrine right!

ARTICLE: TORONTO — The Anglican Church of Canada narrowly voted against authorizing same-sex marriages Monday after nearly a week of passionate debates about blessing such unions at the church’s triennial conference.More than 200 delegates attending the six-day General Synod 2016 north of Toronto narrowly rejected the resolution after more than 60 speakers made their points, with most speaking in support of the resolution.Same-sex marriage has been legal in Canada since 2005, and Monday’s vote puts the Anglican Church — the third largest in Canada — out of step with most Canadians, including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who recently took part in a gay pride parade in Toronto. In order for the resolution to have passed, it required two-thirds support from each of three orders — the lay, clergy and bishops.

Bill Nye: Kids are “brainwashed” at Noah’s Ark museum Video

TRUTH BOMBS: But Bill, why is brainwashing kids bad? In your atheistic worldview, what makes Christian teaching evil? YOU DON’T KNOW! In your worldview people are just pond-scum and the consciousness is only electro-chemical reactions. So what how can you even have a platform to stand on to say it is wrong? AND WE LET PEOPLE LIKE THIS TEACH OUR KIDS.

TRUTH BOMBS: This shows more evidence that there is nothing “Christian” about Christian rock and modern Christian music. YOU CANNOT BE A CHRISTIAN IF YOU DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT CHRIST BELIEVED (AND CHRIST BELIEVED NO FALSEHOOD) AND NOT SUBMIT TO CHRIST’S AND HIS APOSTLE’S TEACHINGS. The article says he has a wife and kids which is more evidence that he was straight but cultural influences changed him.

ARTICLE: The first time I spoke with Trey Pearson was through a rearview mirror.I’ve made it a habit—a pretty natural one as a storyteller—of chatting up my drivers since Uber took over the city’s social bus driver role, and there’s been plenty to dig into. The retired Air Force officer who smelled like Drakkar Noir. The catering chef who let me sing Lauryn Hill songs with her on my birthday. The out-of-town cop making weekend money to stash away for his daughter’s college fund. None stuck with me the way Trey did.Just a few minutes before I departed for some assorted happy hour, Trey, arching his neck and speaking once more into the rearview, said something that bounced around in my head for the rest of the night, and to be honest, for several months after:“I’m gay, and one of the only people who knows is my wife.”On the balance, a story of a man coming to terms with his sexuality and coming out of the closet is no bombshell, especially not in a progressive city such as Columbus—but Trey wasn’t just a musician—he was a bona fide rock star.Since 1997, he’s been the core of Everyday Sunday, a highly successful alternative outfit who’s sold hundreds of thousands of records, scored multiple #1 singles on the national radio charts, toured all 50 states and 20 countries, and signed to a reputable label in Nashville.

Nine Christians Killed in Another Attack in Eastern DRC – Christian News Headlines

TRUTHBOMBS: Wake up to the persecution Church. Stand firm!

An attack by unknown armed men early on Tuesday morning (5 July) has claimed the lives of at least nine Christians in the volatile eastern region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Local sources contacted by World Watch Monitor said the assailants stormed the Tenambo, Nzanza and Mamiki communities, near an army base on the outskirts of the town of Oicha, between 4am and 6am. Armed with guns and machetes, they looted homes, taking food and cattle as plunder. The incident was confirmed by security forces and the Administrator of Beni territory, Bernard Amisi Kalonda, who said the death toll may climb higher as searches for victims continue. Eastern DRC has been beset by deadly violence, with 1,116 killed between October 2014 and May 2016, according to local NGOs. Another 1,470 people have been abducted, they say, while more than 34,000 families have been forcibly displaced. There have also been numerous cases of sexual violence against women and children. The area is nearly 96 per cent Christian, and the impact of the violence has been immense. A pastor in the area affected by the 5 July attack told World Watch Monitor that all the victims, including an elder from his church and five women, were Christians. The attack provoked panic; many fled the area and sought refuge in safer areas of Oicha. A local activist said security forces did not heed the warnings of an imminent attack, after leaflets were distributed in Beni and the surrounding area. “The authorities should have taken some steps to counter the enemy,” Teddy Kataliko told local media. “Today, they penetrated the centre of the capital of the Beni territory, and created desolation. We believe it’s time we take action all around Oicha and Beni to avoid even worse.” The three communities attacked by rebels were only 200 metres from an army position, and about three kilometres from a UN base. Despite persistent gunfire and calls for help, no-one intervened, local sources said. Another unnamed activist told local media that some people thought they were under attack by the military. “They were wearing full uniform with Arab scarves around their necks and red bands around their heads,” the activist said. “The army always asks the population to collaborate, but when they do, nothing is happening.” An army spokesman has denied the accusations. ‘Who are the killers of Beni?’ The Congolese government has always attributed responsibility for attacks to the Islamist militants of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF). But a report published on 21 March by the Congo Research Group, an independent group linked with New York University, has cast doubts on that assessment. The report, titled “Who are the killers of Beni?”, says that a number of actors and interests have fuelled the crisis in eastern DRC. Rather than a foreign Islamist group driven by revenge, ADF rebels have forged strong ties with local groups and militias over the course of 20 years of insurrection around Beni, it says. Adding to the criticism that the Congolese army has been passive in the face of the violence, the report claims that the Congolese government and MONUSCO (the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission) have not put sufficient effort into addressing the crisis. Moreover, the ADF has not acted alone, it says. The report adds that in addition to commanders directly tied to the ADF, members of the national army and local militias have also been involved in attacks on civilians. “Our researchers have documented cases in which [army] officers discouraged their units from intervening during massacres, and there is extensive evidence indicating that members of the [army] have actively participated in massacres,” the report said. The Congo Research Group recommended that both the DRC government and UN peacekeeping forces investigate the violence committed in the Beni vicinity since October 2014 and determine responsibility for the massacres. In May, local NGOs wrote to Congolese President Joseph Kabila to denounce the ongoing killings of people in eastern DRC, particularly in Beni and Lubero, in North Kivu Province. But the violence continues. The UN’s 2016 Global Humanitarian Overview documented the continued presence of numerous illegally armed groups in DRC. It also highlighted the scale of the humanitarian disaster. “In DRC, a complex and protracted crisis of massive proportions has created humanitarian needs for 7.5 million people, or 9 per cent of the population,” it stated. “Eastern DRC continues to be the theatre of a complex and protracted humanitarian crisis affecting at least 1.6 million IDPs, 90 per cent of whom are displaced due to armed attacks and violence.”

Iowa: Church under Fire for Sermons on Homosexuality – Christian News Headlines

TRUTHBOMBS: Sure, they won’t come after Churches! We have Freedom of Religion! Our governments would NEVER force their atheistic religion on the Christian. I am totally sarcastic if you can’t tell! This was the intent all along.

Attorneys representing an Iowa church filed a federal lawsuit Monday against the Iowa Civil Rights Commission, arguing that the government cannot stop the church from teaching biblical sexuality. The Alliance Defending Freedom, according to a news release from their office, filed the lawsuit. The agency’s interpretation of a state law in Iowa could ban churches from expressing their views on human sexuality if they “directly or indirectly” make persons feel “unwelcome” in regards to church events. That could include comments made from the pulpit, ADF Legal Counsel Christiana Holcomb writes in the news release. The law would apply to churches during any activity the commission says does not have a “bona fide religious purpose.” “Churches should be free to teach their religious beliefs and operate their houses of worship according to their faith without being threatened by the government. That is a foundational First Amendment principle,” said Holcomb. “Churches have always been protected from government intrusion, and they still are. “They have a firmly established freedom to teach their beliefs and set internal policies that reflect their biblical teachings about marriage and human sexuality. One can hardly imagine a more obvious unconstitutional invasion of the state into the internal affairs of the church.”

India: Extremists tortured 30 Christians for refusing to deny Christ

29 Indian Christians were tortured and bashed by Hindu extremists, as they refused to deny Christ and reconvert to Hinduism.

The incident was reported by Open Doors, a Christian watchdog group, which said, “This is just one of an increasing number of stories of persecution coming out of India. Hindu extremists have been attacking Christians more frequently and more violently. This is happening across India and has increased by 34 per cent since 2013.”Christians tortured in IndiaThe incident took place in Katholi village; where enraged extremists destroyed houses of Christians and forced them to flee from their houses.

It has been reported by Open Doors that the leader of the Christians community of the village was summoned in a meeting by the Hindu extremists, and convert back to Hinduism along with other Christians. When the Christians refused to convert to Hinduism, the extremists were furious and started torturing them.

The Christian villagers after fleeing, tried to return to their houses after four days, but were not allowed to settle down by the extremists and had to flee again. The villagers abused the Christians saying, ”Because of you our god and goddess are fleeing from our village. When they refused to forsake Christ they began to beat them. Beating them they drove them towards their houses and threw out their belonging.”As the situation escalates, Open Doors has urged Christians across the globe to pray for the Indian Christians that God may protect them from radicals and that situation for Christian converts gets better. It is also being claimed that despite rising persecution, Christianity is still growing in the predominantly, Hindu country, where Christianity is third-largest religion in terms of population.

Minister from Satanic Temple will deliver invocation on July 14 | WEAR

TRUTHBOMBS: Here is a though, what if this group of council members were only being realistic and truly practicing their true religion. After all if people don’t believe in God they are followers of Satan: “Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” John 8:42-44 (KJV)

The Pensacola City Council opted not to take action at a special meeting Thursday, clearing the way for a minister of the Satanic Temple to deliver the invocation later this month.”I just wanted to give the public a chance to come out and address us,” Council President Charles Bare said. “This is the last opportunity that we had to see if the council wanted to have Mr. Suhor come speak to us for invocation.”Bare called the special meeting because David Suhor is set to give the invocation on behalf of the Satanic Temple on July 14.Back in February, Suhor put in a request through the city clerk to give the invocation. The city clerk usually arranges and schedules them, but this particular case went to the council president. Bare offered a slot in December.”When I was asked to give him a slot, I just said well, I serve until November, my preference was to not have him do it while I was council president,” Bare said. The date is July was offered after much persistence on Suhor’s part. However, it also raised questions why there is not a standard procedure for choosing who delivers invocations.”How would you feel if you were a non-Christian and came to nearly every meeting and heard Christian prayer over and over and over,” Suhor said. The move to allow the satanic prayer also sparked outrage with some in the community. Bare ordered the meeting with the recommendation to get rid of invocations altogether and replace them with a moment of silence.

The councilmembers present all expressed no interest in getting rid of invocations and so the matter was taken off the table within minutes of the meeting starting.Even though they did not take action, the council still allowed the public to comment on the matter. Some took the opportunity to express concern about allowing the prayer at the July 14 meeting.”You want ISIS? That person right there is a representative of ISIS,” one woman said.”He’s walking about seeking out he may devour and the times are drawing short that people need to know what the truth is of the word of God,” another said.Others stood by Suhor. Several pointed out that an invocation is meant to promote unity. Suhor said that is all he wanted in the first place.”No one comes to these meetings to get prayed over,” Suhor said. “They’re divisive, they’re not in any way uniting, they can be hurtful and make people feel ostracized.”

Study Reveals Americans are Going to Church for the Wrong Reasons | CBN.com

TRUTHBOMBS:  “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” 2 Timothy 4:2-4 (KJV)

Many unreligious Americans are willing to go to church, but not for the reasons you would think. LifeWayResearch released a study last week that reveals unchurched people are not attracted to church for the worship set or to learn more about God. Instead they are more willing to come to a church service or event if faith is not explicit. For example, 62 percent would attend a church meeting about neighborhood safety, community service event, 51 percent, sports or exercise program, 46 percent, concert, 45 percent, or an all-inclusive neighborhood event at a church, 45 percent. “Concerns for neighborhood safety and desire to express compassion to the under-resourced seem to be the biggest potential draws for the unchurched to get connected to a church,” said Rick Richardson, professor of evangelism and leadership at Wheaton College and research fellow for the Billy Graham Center for Evangelism.”Invite unchurched people to those kinds of events, and many say they will attend,” he concluded. However, only 35 percent are interested in attending a worship service, 25 percent would attend a recovery group, and only 24 percent would attend a special seminar on a spiritual topic. And what is the best way to bring people into the church? According to LifeWay Research, a personal invite is the most effective. “When it comes to church invitations, a personal touch works better than a sales pitch,” the report says. ‘Half (51 percent) of unchurched Americans say a personal invitation from a friend or family member would be effective in getting them to visit church,”So that means the best way to get the unchurched in church is to personally invite them to a church sponsored community service event or another event that demonstrates “compassion.”
